On Aug 3rd 1989 we started something. We were selling Only Local Music from the Northwest out of a small store front/ office space in the New Market Theater Building at 50 SW 2nd avenue in Portland Oregon. It worked, we progressed, opened a second store in Beaverton Oregon, moved across the street to a bigger location in Portland and started a record label.
Locals Only Recording lives on with it’s small catalog. That catalog resides here and at other online music stores. We have seen many changes in the business of recording over the past 30 years but the biggest change has to be artist and audience access to each other. That idea is what inspires us to move forward with a simple reference and retail site that will help both audience and audience find local recordings created in the northwest region of North America.
